My fiancee's mother is a little more than overbearing at times. If she's not crying, saying he's going to leave me and the baby, she's screaming saying I'm going to keep the baby from her. Which, when people act like babies, I don't want them watching babies, you know. She acts like she's having the baby sometimes. Constantly trying to name it, getting upset if I don't like the name (we've already chosen!), and she'll tell me my taste in baby furniture is nasty. I'm not sure, but I don't think Winnie the Pooh is trashy. Lol. She's the kind of person that does irritating things in the "quiet, lady-like" manner. So...my mother and my mother-in-law do NOT get along, though I love them both very much. They are very different people. My mother-in-law bought me a comforter set from Wal-Mart that I didn't choose for our crib (and then sent me a picture of it on the cellphone). I didn't really like it and loved the one that we had registered for somewhere else, though it was a good bit more expensive (both are Winnie the Pooh themed). I didn't want to hurt my mother-in-law's feelings, so I kept hers and was going to use it as a "backup" if we got the one we had registered for at a shower. We bought a lovely winnie the pooh wire bound note book yesterday.. I am not the most creative person so was wondering if you could help me with what sort of things I should put in here.... So far... - I am going to put the originals of my scan in the book, - Take photos of my bump every two weeks or so and put pics of them in there so that i can monitor my progress - Keep a record of all the baby names we like (these are currently in another note book but think they will be nice in this book) Do you think I should write like a diary entry everyday of how im feeling etc or just once a week? i got my friend's baby shwer invitation. there is a card in it saying her & her husband are registered at Walmart & Target. On another card it says, "No Winnie The Pooh." That is rude, right? I've never had a baby, but I just assume to flat out tell people what not to get is crappy. I just thought it was rude that she registered for the most expensive things possible to begin with. Registered for very specific things (fine..it's her choice I get that) but then to extend it and be basically like, "Come to my shower. Buy me things, but NOT this!!!" Ok, here is the story; I am twenty years old and getting married in less than a month. Our family and friends ask us when we will have our first child. Thing is, I really don't want children yet, not till I am at least twenty-four. I tell everyone that we are going to wait to have kids. Then they ask another question. When we finally get pregnant, they want to know if we are going to find out the baby’s gender or be surprised at the birth. My first response was 'surprise'. This raises another question, not only from them but me as well. I need some help. If I am not going to know the baby’s gender how can I decorate their room? I found some cute Winnie the Pooh ones in a K Mart last April, and thought it'd be nice to get one for my sister... The nearest K Mart to me is around four hours away and I really don't want to go that far for it if I don't have to. I've tried two different Walmart stores but wasn't able to find any. The stores I was told to try that are within the distance I'll drive are Walmart (theres actually 2 regular ones and 2 super walmarts), Cosco, Gap, the baby stores in the mall, Ross, and theres a few other baby/child stores. Anyone know of a good place to try looking for one or know of a good website where I can find one at a reasonable price? I have been searching for months now! I'm not a big fan of the Winnie the Pooh collections and all the Graco (as well as other big name brands) seem to be either specifically aimed towards girls (princess themes, all pink, etc) or gender neutral. And even the gender neutral ones almost all have some kind of flower pattern. My fiance is extremely masculine and is so excited to be having a little boy, but he really wants the products to be boy-ish. All I am looking for is a playard (preferably the kind with a changing table/bassinet attachment) and a matching travel system (stroller and car seat). I swear I am not being lazy and relying on other people to search for me. I have looked in stores and online! I finally found one that I LOVED (it was PERFECT), and it was of course out of stock and now totally gone from all websites. That's my luck. The price, at this point, is just no longer a worry because I am so desperate to find one I like. As long as it's under 400ish for both. Anything more than that would be ridiculous! Oh, if you have recently bought or seen one which is actually neutral and not leaning towards girly, I would love that as well. My son will be 16 months in another two weeks. He can climb up and down the stairs whenever he wants, he can hand me things when he wants me to do something with it, he babbles and tries to talk all the time but so far he can say "uh-oh" and "dada" and I'm stretching to give him those words. His mother speaks another language to him. His doc says he should know 3 words by now besides mama and dada. And in the next 2-3 months should know another 15. Thats not gonna happen. He cries when meets people or when someone wants to touch him or pick him up. Not all the time, but most of the time. I let him watch the baby einstein dvd's alot. My question is, I now that he'll be 16 months soon, I still think he's more baby than toddler. He runs around and plays with other kids his age well, but am I babying him? Well, not me per say, I think his family babies him and always has. As a dad, am i being too tough on him too early or can I start treating him like a kid more than a baby? I wanna put him in toddler bed and get rid of all the winnie the pooh stuff and baby stuff. And what does that mean anyway? Hope my question makes sense.
