I live in the UK with my wife and son. On Friday we exchanged contracts on a house we are buying (we currently rent) which means we have to go through with the purchase. 2 hours later all my colleagues and I were told we were going to be made redundant in December. I have worked for the company for 16 years. I live in Kent as do ALL my family and friends. There is a 50% chance of a transfer to Lincolnshire. Should I accept the transfer OR start looking for a new job now and chance losing redundancy money (between £6000 + £7000) OR look for a job in December? Resolved Question: Removing & replacing a car windscreen correctly?

Does anyone have experience in the following as I need to remove the windscreen from a MK3 VW Golf. Apparently I've been advised they are bonded to the car, what ever that means ? I presume there are no outer rubber seals on these windscreens unlike the older cars, where a rubber seal was present all around the glass. What is the correct way to do it, do I need any special tools to take it out ? There is a large crack across the windscreen thats why it has to come out. I was thinking maybe just smash it out from the inside out & clean up the edges of the bodywork, ready for the replacement to go in. Resolved Question: Which UK Universities have the best maths faculties?

Hello, I am currently going through the delightful, not-stressful-whatsoever process of finding a University to go to in '10. I know that you shouldn't choose a University before choosing a course, but I'm quite keen on UEA and University of Kent (Canterbury) right now. However, I would be interested to know which Universities are considered to have the best maths faculties. Bear in mind however, that I won't quite have done well enough in my ASes to go to Oxbridge, Warwick, Durham, anywhere in London, or anywhere disgustingly prestigious like that etc. To earn additional brownie points from me, any advice on what I should actually DO with my maths degree would be appreciated. I have no idea what I'd be suited to. Considered accounting, actuarial, engineering, but can't think! I'd like to have a bit more of an idea what paths I'd like to follow so that I can pick a Uni with a maths course that is more tailored to that career path. I'd like something which involves a heavy use of mathematics if possible. As always, any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Simon  more

I live in Cornwall, UK and my mum and other family live in Kent, UK. It is about 300 miles away. I am pregnant with my first baby and want to take her to Kent when she is around 1 week old. Resolved Question: Orange Box graphics card problem?

Ok, so I bought the Orange Box on my Steam account and I downloaded most of the games. The problem is that my graphics card isn't enough to run it. It says I need a graphics card that has a minimum of a 1.1 shader or something. Basically what I wanna know is where in the UK (London/Kent area) I can buy a cheap graphics card with all the right specs to run all games from the Orange Box. Preferably a big retail store like PC world, Game, Comet like average kinda London stores. Resolved Question: I live in Kent in the UK and have a booking appt date through and a nuchal scan date through but nothing else.?

I'm anxious as my sister in law (first pregnancy) had a dating scan about 8 weeks (which I am now) then a nuchal scan at a separate date. The letter I have for the booking appt says they don't scan at booking appointments. Can someone please advise me what I should be expecting? Do I need to book a dating scan myself? I am looking for a location where a group of us can go and set up our own BBQ.....We used to be able to do this at Godstone Farm and a few other places (Keston ponds, or somewhere near Hayes in Kent, i think) but most places seem to have banned them now....anyone now anywhere nice we can do it....just need a field somewhere in the countryside I guess! Hi, I've had my hamster for a week now and while he seems quite happy in his multi-storey cage, I quite fancy making him a bigger bin cage over the summer, as I worry about the amount of space he has and if he gets bored! However, I live in Kent, England, so I'm not really able to get a Sterlite branded box - the type that are normally recommended on Bin Cage tutorial websites. Has anyone in the UK made one, and if so, what brand of bin did you use? Is there any reason why the Sterlite is recommended over other brands of bin? People who are unable to use the correct form of "there", "their" or "they're" need not reply. Also, I am making one, and he doesn't chew the bars on his cage, so I'm not inclined to believe he's going to munch his way out of a smooth sided plastic tub.  more

Resolved Question: Any advice for finding campsites while travelling round uk?

I'm going on a two week road trip with two friends around England this summer (early august) and we're visiting various friends from north yorkshire to kent. Obviously we can stay with them while we're there, but in between we're going to need places to stay for a night or two. We were hoping we'd be able to just find campsites to just turn up at if when we need, but I'm not sure how realistic that would be. We're not fussy, don't need really good facilities just somewhere to pitch a tent and get some sleep. Any advice? In the absence of campsites, what are the rules for camping out in the countryside? Are there certain places where you can camp and not get in trouble (obviously not leaving rubbish or anything)?  more

HELP!dog head trauma? my little dog got knocked over by a bigger dog yesterday afternoon. he looked like he was dead and not moving so my friend and i was giving him mouth to mouth and rubbing his belly and back and he came around withing seconds. i think he was unconsions. we got him to the vet as soon as we could and he was moving all his lets and was having trouble breathing. he is breathing fine and the vet said he has had a head trauma which could be very bad if its giving him brain damage! aim so so so upset and i don't know what to do! he is not a veg table but he cant stand and seems to be very slow. it hasn't been 24hr yet since the accident so aim not to sure what will happen yet. MY QUESTION IS....... has anyone had a dog with a head trauma? do they serive? how long should i give my little dog be for i put him asleep? how many days should i keep him going be for i should see an improvement in him? he is not in pain and wags his little tail when he see me and my family. he looks like he has lost all balance and seems to lift his head alot to one side. has anyone been though this and have any good information that would help me! i will do all my best for my baby and if this life is in pain or not a good Quality of life and will put him to sleep, but i just want a little hope and to know if they can get better! thank you Rebecca drane * 2 days ago * - 2 days left to answer. Hello My husband had a accident a few months back which has resulted in him not being able to wear normal shop brought shoes due to his foot being very wide, flat and not Straight and in shape. He is having a pair specially made for him via the NHS but these are big boots and not very practical for summer and everyday wear. Does anyone know here he can get fitted and made some more trendier styles like trainers or suitable summer footwear. Obviously he cannot buy off the shelf. Would prefer Essex, London, Kent areas. Hello there, I am going to the UK for 3 weeks on business. I will be on-site working in an office located near Sevenoaks, Kent but I would prefer to keep my hotel in London. Is it feasible to commute to London -> Kent and Kent <- London on a daily basis? I know its pretty far but since it's my first time in the UK I would prefer to stick with a metropolitan area so I have better access to restaurants etc. Is it out of the ordinary for people to commute to and from Kent? If it takes longer than 40 minutes to get to my destination I may have to rethink where I want the hotel but i'm hoping a few locals could be of assistance. Thanks for your help!  more
